Don't DO yoga, TRY yoga!

Day 2

What a difference a day makes... Only 15 hours after my nightmare of a class, and I was able to have a great practice. My friend Doug decided to accompany me to this one, after I have spent years trying to convince him to try it out. He was nervous but did a super job. I know how much this yoga has improved the lives of its practitioners, so I am always delighted when I get a friend to try it. As Hanane said in today's class, you don't do yoga, you try it. You do the best that you can with the body that you have today. Some days you can breeze through all of the poses, some days you just pass out after the warm up! I took some pictures (thanks to my photographer Melinda!) and plan to take pictures of these same poses through the challenge. Hopefully I will be able to see an improvement at the end!

Fund raising update: I have raised $95.00 already! I am just so thrilled at the positive reaction that people have shown me. Some friends have gotten to know the Peace Drum Project, which they might not have otherwise found out about. Some friends are interested in taking yoga with me. So in addition to raising money, I've found a great way to show people what I am passionate about. Keep going!!
