Day 16

For class on day 16, I went to the North Andover studio. I had never been there before, but I love Terri the owner, so I decided to check it out. My friend from Nashua wanted to take class with me, too, so I thought it would be a good meeting point. The studio was absolutely gorgeous. Nice big windows, old wood ceilings, and lots of heat. The instructor wore a headset which was interesting- her voice always came from the same point and was very clear. So when she walked around the room I wasn't following her in my head. It was one less distraction. The class was so much fun. Between my friend from Nashua, and Yelba teaching, I was smiling the whole time. Except for triangle, when I never smile. (kidding)
Before coming to class I visited my Nana in Methuen. She filled me up with pumpkin pie and other treats, but I was careful to stop eating two hours before class. After a few hours with her, I drove to North Andover through Lawrence. My GPS took me on some weird route, and by some strange twist of fate it took me via the road that my mother grew up on. Also on the way I passed many family landmarks- where relatives had funerals, where they worked, their old schools and hangouts, etc. And I realized midway through class that I was doing yoga in what used to be a mill where some of my relatives probably worked. I don't know why all of these things seemed like coincidences to me, but it seemed like a significant part of the experience. I could only imagine my great grandparents looking on as I did the poses and thinking, "what the hell is she doing??" If only they had the yoga too....
