DAY 1
Now I know this post will not make my friends want to try Bikram yoga, but I have to be honest. Day 1 or the challenge was incredibly hard. I walked into the hot room and immediately felt like fried chicken. I could not do any poses after "Standing head to knee" which is pretty close to the beginning of class. I tried so hard to focus on my breathing but could not help but wonder why I felt so crummy. The list of excuses was running through my head. Could it be the chocolate cupcake I had for breakfast? Maybe they "forgot" to turn off the heating panels? Whatever the reason, I could barely keep my eyes open and spent an incredible amount of energy just trying to keep myself in the room. It was the hardest class ever! Luckily, I had Smokey by my side to keep my spirits up. This friend of mine did about 400 classes in a row! He is a true yoga rock star. He has an incredible spirit, and I felt so lucky to be practicing next to him. I just looked over, saw him doing the poses, and knew it would be alright..
Fried chiken is good stuff.
