Mix it up

Day 18

Today I did two yoga classes, but one was not a Bikram class. So it was technically not a "double". But it was still hard! I was dragging my feet to the 7 PM class in West Roxbury. I kept procrastinating all day and took the last class available to me of the day. I wanted to go in and have the teacher say, "oh your first class counts! You don't have to do another class today! You are excused from the torture chamber!" But no such luck. I had Audrey! She is my evil lock the knee fairy teacher, and still I love her.
The first class I took was Smokey's Yoga Fitness class. It was amazing. I had never seen him doing other kinds of yoga before and I was really impressed. It was a non-stop hour of intense cardio, which is a much different feeling than in Bikram when you take a few second savasana break between each pose. Smokey's class focused on opening the energies of the different chakras through creative self expression and yoga. And it was all done to some dope music. (basement jax anyone?) It is definitely good to mix things up when you are doing the same class for 30 days in a row. Just wish there were more hours in the day to do it all...
