Feed me, Lizzy

Day 10

The past few days I have been trying to convince myself to skip practice and go eat something yummy instead. I am definitely not starving myself, and I am at least eating like I regularly do. I think that doing all of this exercise makes me turn a blind eye to gluttony, which can be dangerous. Like this morning when I poured myself a ridiculously large bowl of rice krispies without thinking twice about the enormous mountain of snapping crackling and popping going on under my nose.
Doing yoga has taught me to have a new respect for the food I eat. I seem to be more aware of what foods make me feel good or bad. I love how good healthy food makes me feel, and I guess I try to eat like that most of the time. I've learned a lot about food from my yoga friends. I seem to always overhear conversations of people sharing nutritional knowledge or recipes, and I have been pretty adventurous in trying things out. Like the other night when I decided to make my first "green smoothie". It was so disgusting that to describe it might make anyone reading this nauseous; but I drank it all down anyway. I felt so good afterwards that I asked around for some advice about how to properly make one. To my surprise, I found out that my yoga homeboy Dan is somewhat of a smoothie aficionado. I got some great ideas from him, and hopefully he will be posting more recipes on the "comments" section of the blog soon! I'll let you know how it tastes....
